Many of these principles have been very useful and have served as guiding principles and, at times, as guard rails to develop better software. However, the principles do not work in isolation. They interplay with each other and sometimes even against each other. In this presentation we will look at the trade offs in applying well known design principles within the confines of the architectures that applications may be based on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4\"><strong>About Venkat Subramaniam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4\">Dr. Venkat Subramaniam is an award-winning author, founder of Agile Developer, Inc., an instructional professor at the University of Houston, and the creator of the dev2next conference.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4\">He has trained and mentored thousands of software developers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia, and is a regularly-invited speaker at several international conferences. Venkat helps his clients effectively apply and succeed with sustainable agile practices on their software projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4\">Venkat is a (co)author of multiple technical books, including the 2007 Jolt Productivity award winning book Practices of an Agile Developer.
